Im trying to network my ps3 to have an internet connection so that i may play games online. I started to manually configure my network settings and i got the ip address part as "successful" but the internet connectiion was "failed". I plugged my ethernet cable from the ps3's LAN spot into my modems ethernet spot. Obviously the IP address part was good cause i got a successful, im just not understanding why im not getting a internet connection. It says failed due to DNS server problems. Possible i might be using the wrong DNS in which ill try a couple of things. Let me know what you think or if i need to give additional information.

Thanks

What's your router password setting on WEP or WPA?

If it's WPA a lot of eletronics aren't compatbile with it. You will need to set it to WEP.

If you don't have a password on your router, you might have to try a frimware update on your router.

where is your ps3 at in your home? have you tried putting it in another place? it may not have enough signal strength to connect or something around the ps3 is interfering with the signal.
