LAN with no internet

Can I setup a private lan with no internet. We are over in Iraq and want to get other to play on the same game. But it says we have to do it over a lan. Is this possible. This is with XBOX 360's

yeah, get a switch and a couple of ethernet cables. plug your boxen into the switch. done. be aware that LAN means local area network.
