i have a wireless comp, in my room and im trying to set up the xbox though ethernet cable, the router is downstairs, i have bridged the connection but when i try and conect to xbox live it wont find my ip adress please help nick also im on vista

Assuming this is for xbox 360. Go to your computer and log in. Now go to the start button, in the search, type cmd in that box now you will see a cmd.exe appear right click it and hit "Run as Admin", a black screen should come up type in ipconfig/all then find where it says physical address, write it down on a piece of paper. If there is any games in your xbox take them out and turn on the xbox, go to system, then go to network settings, then go to edit settings and go to additional settings and go down to where it says alterinate mac adress then as an alterinate mac address type in the thing you wrote down on the paper. now try to connecto to live again.
