How to use my PC speaker with my PS3?

I have a problem I am using Creative Speaker T6100 5.1 and I dont have a dedicated sound card but my Intel motherboard DP55WB supports upto 7.1 speakers. I am finding it difficult to establish the audio thro' google instructions.

I have the PS3 stock AV Cable, RC Y Cable, RC Cable junction, 3.5mm Male Male connector. I did exactly the above but my Speaker is mute. So first I doubted the RC junction. But inorder to check it I connected a Samsung headphone to the RC Y adapter. And to my shock I was able to hear my PS3 but was feeble. So my doubt is what's the problem here? Is the lack of dedicated Sound card the problem? Pls help me

Are you talking about a PC or a PS3?

PS3 has no sound card at all. You can't use PC speakers on it.
