How to fix screen tearing..........?

Specs: Windows XP SP3, 4 GB RAM
hey guys i just bought a new intel core 2 due 3.0 E8400 with 4 GB RAM and AMD RADEON HD 6670 2 GB DDR3.......i thought that this pc is gud 4 gaming and yet it Is i m trying to play every game on mid settings which is very gud for me and is still working but i notice a lot of screen tearing when playing games such that i notice lots of screen tearing on a fence or something like that plz help i have heard that when refresh rate is D/F from frame rate that causes the problem my monitor has 60 HZ and refresh rate is also 60 HZ so plz tell me how do i fix it i have also tried forcing vSYNC and it dont work i have tried riva tuner and it dont work also so plz giv me a solution i really need it i want the best gaming experience !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE....I WOULD REALY APRECIATE ANY CONCERN...................!!

This post is really old, but i'll post here, maybe this dude will come back

Do any other fullscreen applications work w/o tearing? Are you running ( i assume yes) 32 bit color? LCD screen?

I've known some obscure older graphics cards that tear frames when running in 32 bit color. Rare, but obviously not your problem.
