Help with netgear n300 port forwarding!?!

November 23, 2010 at 14:09:15
Specs: Windows XP
Im trying to play COD Black OPS on my Wii but i cant seem to connect with my router. I keep on getting cant find server error message (all my other wii games work fine) . Activision says i need to try port forwarding :

"Most problems with the multiplayer portion of the game are related to routers or other connection sharing devices. You can try setting up port forwarding on your router, Call of Duty: Black Ops uses ports 443 and 3074 TCP and ports 3074 and 3075 UPD. If port forwarding does not work you can try putting your console into the DMZ of your router. For information on how to setup your router please contact your router manufacturer. You should also check the Nintendo website for information on connecting your console to the internet and compatibility information."

Im having trouble getting this to work. Anyone have any step by step advise for me??

Dear Rich,
Opening those ports shouldn't make a difference providing you can connect to the wireless for every other game, "(all my other wii games work fine)"
Do you have any other CoD game on the wii as this may be your problem because it requires you to change the name of both of your games to comething completly different
Alternatively, contact Nintendo directly because it is their servers that allow or disallow people to connect, not Activision
