I have Verizon DSL. I am going to hook up my DSL to my computer. I have a PS2. My PS2 and computer will be in the same room. I need to plug in the ethernet cable in the the PS2 and the modem. Can I use the USB cable that I was given and plug it in to the modem and my computer, so that I can connect to the internet on my computer ((I am not going to be online on my PS2 and computer at the same time)) or do I just need to keep pluggin in the ethernet cable to my PS2 everytime I want to get online to play games and then unplug and put the ethernet cable in my computer everytime I want to go on the internet with my computer? It would be a lot easier if the USB can connect. Thanks!
Your DSL modem has a built in router thus is why you have one eithernet connection and one usb connection. Your modem can run 2 connections off it at once, but In order to make both the ps2 and pc run both connections at the same time without switching the eithernet cable back and forth, you will have to connect the USB connection to your pc and your ethernet cable to your ps2, because the USB connection requires pc drivers to work. That way you can have your pc and your ps2 online at the same time without having to switch back and forth the eithernet cable.
