Comment:
I've got two mobile harddisk, one with winXP installed the other with win98. They are of different speed and different capability (one is 20 Gb the other is 40).
I have an ASUS A7V266-E motherboard and I would like to know if it understands when I change harddisk or if I have to make a boot file or something to let the pc understands that the harddisk is changed.

If I understand you correctly just set the bios to autodetect the primary master (assuming thats the one your swapping). Make sure you only swap with the PC off (sorry but there HAVE been misunderstandings) Oh if this is the boot drive exactly where would you put that bootfile so the PC could always see it???
