Comment:
I was told that the "early" P4 might cause problems during installation but I couldnīt find the thread (or in fact the link is out of date or has been deletet). Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem with these anoying "welcome....." >kdebug:_ reply shortly after bootscreen appears. I already tried several BIOS-options and yes of course I did press <space> to check or uncheck the further booting options. No luck so far. I feel kind of lost and would appreciate suggestions, ideas and support.
regards kristof

Two things might be causing it. One is the P4 edit for the first models, sometimes "don't call bios" fixes it. Second is the replacement IDE driver. Get the Developer Edition and it has both and try it.

When you see "Loading...." on boot, press space bar.
Select safe mode "Don't call bios".
