wake-up on ring function

Comment:
I`ve bought a new motherboard which has a wake-up on ring function but it is not working yet:))))).I`ve enabled it from Bios.
I have internal PCI modem Conexant v.90 and my question is do I have to connect it somehow to the motherboard-ring output,or just to try booting it up from a remote system.Ooyeahh.. and about the boot up-do I need any special program or just all I need to do is to dial my phone through a modem using the dial-up networking option? And another thing not to bother about-I`ve checked my ATX power supply-It has 1.5A and 5VSB.
I`d be very grateful if you could answer my question.

i think you need a modem that has a wake on ring feature. with should come with a cable that connects to the WOR slot in the motherboad.

Hi, I have an external modem Self memory 2000
from Olitec connected to my PC. Often, when I came home, my PC was turned on because of
some unattended calls to my phone. I didn't do anything special with my new board, no special cable is needed to connect board with modem. Only bios settings has deal with this function. By.

Hi, you need a modem that supports wake on ring so that you can connect the WOR on the motherboard with the internal modem.
If you have an external modem you need not, cause the modem then has an external powersupply.
I am seeking for a modem that supports WOR too, if you get infos of compatible modems please forward it to me.

Thanx a lot

MAX

As Richard said, i always came home and my pc was turned on too. Unintentionally, was my modem, a 56k USRobotics external. But i dont know if WOR has really to be supported by the modem.
What if you plugged a mobile in the serial port, with a serial adapter?
