Comment: Do any of you currently use AT&T Broadband and BeOS? I am trying to connect to the network, but nothing is successful. BeOS completely recognizes my 3Com ethernet card. I tried using DHCP, with no luck. I also tried manually entering the settings but that didn't work either. I have only used dialup in BeOS and have never attempted to connect in this way, so bare with me if I am sounding vague. :) I was going to use my D-Link card at first, but I figured I'd have better luck the with 3com, so that's what I'm using. I use three different ethernet cards and all of the MAC addresses are registered so any of them should work fine. I'm stumped as to what I should do. Any suggestions? And AT&T wants nothing to do with BeOS or Linux, so they're no help.

Reply: (edit)Mostly suggestions like go to Windows and find the DHCP address or name. (this assumes that DHCP is the trouble) You may have to edit a hosts-sample file. I think that beos looks for a hosts file and then the first and second choice for the DHCP. Can you ping 127.0.0.1? Can you ping any other IP address? Do you have to use a proxy in netpositive with a port number to access the modem? Does it have an IP?
