i have this annoying problem with my multimedia.
the first one is when i leave my computer for a while (6 hrs or so) when i come back, all audio playback becomes fuzzy and staticky. the only thing that fixes it is a media server restart. i am using a sound blaster Ensoniq . could it be the drivers, beos, media server, or the soundcard?the other problem is with video playback. in VLC. video playback flashes back frequently when it is being played. as an example, white flashes will appear on the screen like about once every 2 seconds, making playback undesireable.
i have tried uninstalling divx, uninstall ffmpeg, reinstall ffmpeg, remove video card drivers i dont use, uninstall radeon driver, reinstall radeon driver, and i am using the radeon video card driver. i tried deleting the vlc settings file, and downloading a new vlc and using it from the extracted folder. maybe i need to fully uninstall vlc or is it a setting? this started hapening about 2 weeks ago.
video playback in nplay is fine. any ideas?
also when i play a dvd, it is really tooth looking. it seems as there is no deinterlacing setting on. what is the best setting it should be at? ps- i have a celeron 400, could it be the slow cpu? (the fps seem fine)thanks.

the problem magically fixed it self 3 days ago. i think it could of been a video overheating thing (on the overlay) because after my computer was off for a long while, i turned it back on and that's when it didnt happen anymore.
