You can get various versions.

The most basic is a free personal edition at bebits.com.

There you will find some other install means too.

You can still purchase it from purplus or Zeta from europe. It might be in the states.

There is a good live CD of Zeta 1.21 out too.

There are virtual machines for running under VMware's VMplayer too of Haiku.

There was a good cd by beosonline.de called developers edition.

There was a good edition called max too.

If you can find it there is even phos. (I have to get my cd darn it, Loon!)

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

If you want to install BeOS R5 Personal Edition for Linux, This does not in any way alter or harm your Linux installation. BeOS Personal Edition is entirely self-contained within a file installed onto your Linux partition. If you would like to put it in its own partition, however, you may do that from within BeOS.

Also note: this version of BeOS will not boot on certain processors or systems with more than 1 GB of RAM. If you're having problems booting, that may be the cause. BeOS Max Edition and BeOS Developer Edition (links below) are distributions of BeOS that include patches for the processor bugs. In addition, BeOS Max Edition may soon include a patch for the memory issue.
