I'll give you an example.

I play a MIDI file with SoundPlay. Yes, the sound does worsen when I hear it. Why is it? It's because of the MIDI file I'm playing. The MIDI file has its own reverberation turn to the max. Not alone that, I also have SoundPlay enabling its own Plugin FreeVerb. When FreeVerb interacts with a MIDI file with a maximum reverberation; it creates an undesirable distortion. I would have to turn off the FreeVerb. This is just one example you're hearing distortion.

Some other players do the same thing, such as MIDI Player, BAE MIDI Player, for example. A quick solution would be to turn down the player's volume control. Sometime it works; sometime it doesn't. Experiment!

Perhaps, what you can do is turn down the "Master Gain" on the Audio Mixer. You can find this in the Media Preference. Try "None In" as the Audio Input at the Audio Settings.

Hope this helps a little.
Cheers!

IT doesn't work. I try to do the things but the sound goes the same.
i try to hear to the music with the media player or with the cl-amp ant itgoes the same.
I install the drivers for Sound Blaster 16, compatibles, awe32 or awe64 (in www.bebits.com).
Teh sound Card is an ISA card. The chip is Vibra 16C CT2670.
The sound is not reverbererted. It sound like if you put the maser volume to the max and then to the min. (like if youç check the mute and then unchek it and do the same along the song).

Any solution? Thanks.

Hi everyone!

I have a BeOS installed on my PC with AD AC'97 Via-compatible soundcard, but the sound is accelerated. What do I need to fix this? Is there any workaround?

Thanks in advance.
