I'm having big problems installing BeOS 5 on my 6500. From what I've read, it *should* install properly, but I can't get it to work.

This mac is running OS 9.1. I insert the BeOS 5 cd, copy the beos_launcher to the desktop and _OS_Chooser to the system folder. At that point I double click the beos_launcher and it quits out of OS 9 and is supposed to start up the BeOS installer. At least that's what it SHOULD be doing.

At this point, the Cd spins down, and the Be logo appears. Then nothing...
I hold the shift key, and it doesn't seem to do anything. The system seems to totally freeze.

Does anyone have any ideas of what is happening and why this isn't working? I checked the Frizbe matrix but the 6500 isn't listed.

Any help with this would be MUCH appreciated!

For some reason I think that you must have maxos 8 installed to work. Ask that on begroovy.com. I think memsom and a few others are really hot on mac's.

ive got 5 workingon a 6500 so just for the record it does work, despite it not being on the frizbe list.

i also had this problem occur with 4.5. im not sure but it sounds like you may be hitting shift too late. you should hit it right when it gives the first message in the upper left or even before. that should give you the boot menu. if that doesnt work let me know and ill try to tax my brain.
