Comment:

I just installed BeOS 5 Pro on an Intel machine and I can't get it to recognize my HP Laserjet printer, which is connected to my SECOND parallel port. When I attempt to configure the printer, the only parallel connection option given is "parallel1" which I assume refers to the first port. It appears to work, but when I attempt to print, BeOS says that it can't find the printer.

My belief is that there is probably a file that I should edit to produce the desired result, but I can't find anything in the User's Guide or in the BeOS Bible to help me. Any suggestions? Anybody know where the file is that tells BeOS what port a given printer is hooked up to?

Don't suggest changing the connection, there are reasons why I have to use the second port for the printer.

P.S. Don't reply by email -- the address is phoney.

What does it say under the devices tab for that port or card? IRQ conflicts?
