Does anyone know what the requirements to run on a PPC are or where there maybe a webpage with the requirements listed? My friend is interested in putting BeOS on an older PPC his father gave him after their office upgraded computers.

Processor 604e works(not 604ev) 601 will NOT work. Some 603 MAY work. Install on one of the following "for sures": 9500 8500 7600 7300 A Newtech G3 daughtercard on one of the above MAY work but not a "for sure". Re PC: Do not try to install BeOS on an Athlon XP. It can be done (in fact this is a Athlon XP 1800+ and I have BeOs 4.5 and 5.0 running on it, but it is a horror story with patches to the kernal.) But it sure does rock!

The Gobe.com site still has what Be listed for it's HCL. Frizbe.net has users opinions. I haven't heard of a way to install other than using the pro edition.
Ebay had a quad processor mac clone for something like $350 and it was already dual booted into beos and some other system.

Options 2 or 3 are much more difficult to read than to do. The old way was the option 1 Might just take that out now.
