RE: How to burn the image files in PhOSb5.ZIP into a bootable CD? (May 6, 2004, 04:05:42 AM)
burning with beos is easy.
but i guess you have just windows (?)
if you haven´t got nero already, you can download a trial version from here: www.nero.com/en/index.html

unzip PhOSb5.zip into one folder.

now you need a cue file.
here it is:

FILE "boot.img" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2048
INDEX 01 00:00:00
POSTGAP 00:02:00
FILE "PhOS.iso" BINARY
TRACK 02 MODE1/2048
INDEX 01 00:00:00
POSTGAP 00:02:00

copy and paste it into an editor
(i.e. microsoft editor)

save it as "PhOS.cue" into the same folder.

make sure your files have exactly the same name as
listet in the cue file !
otherwise rename them into "boot.img" and "PhOS.iso" !

now open nero

choose "burn image"

go to your phos folder

you should just see your cue file there

select it and click "burn"

that´s it !

Or just use a boot floppy..i did, my burner software doesn't recognize 'cue' files either.
Just put the non-bootable cd in the drive and boot with a beos floppy..it'll boot PhOS off the cd and start the install...

Think you need a dano based floppy. I don't think that the R5.0x will boot it.
