Hi,
I bought a pctel chipset pci modem for my beos yesterday because of Beos support that.But i haven't use it.In windows it is on com4.But in Beos there are 2 serials;serial1 and serial2.I created a new serial and conflict it with my modem.But i havent still use it.How can i use my pctel modem on Beos?thank you very much.

It is a soft modem, good luck, it isn't that easy. If you can take it back you might be better off. Go get an external modemblaster from their online store or at your el cheapo electronic shop. I mean a serial external and save your processor for real tasks. An external will speed up your surfing usually. you might have to have the phone company reset your line if speeds change too much.

OK, so I find out there is a driver on the Dano5.1d that has a driver called trimodem. It might be useful for soft modems. Walther on begroovy forums put some info out on how to hack it for other winmodems. I haven't tested it but one user claims it to work.
