I downloaded BeOS, when I ran it everyting was in grayscale, there was no color. The last time I downloaded BeOS someone suggested a VESA something on bebits.com but it didn't work. I have a S3 Trio 32/64, I know that these cards are no longer compatible, so can someone give me an option so that I can get at least 256 colors?

There is an easy fix for this. When booting into BeOS (the pretty loading screen),
press your space bar. You will get a special menu. Go into the Safe Boot options
and put a check in the box that says "Use fail safe video mode". Then you will
actually need to set your fail safe video mode resolution. Now continue booting.
Poof! You should have color. If not, your video card will not do VESA at all, and
you should consider throwing it away. :-)
