Comment:

I am in the process of setting up a usable dano system on my T-bird box.

I've got my network settings all configured and working (ADSL via PPPoE), but I'd like BONE to start automatically (and connect) when I boot.
How do I make that happen?

If that is not possible, I was wondering if there is a way to get it into the deskbar (like the mailbox), so I can just click on it and choose "connect" or something equally simple.

As it is now, I have to start the Boneyard prefs, go to "dial-up" and press "connect", surely there must be an easier way?

Thanks in advance for any tips or links to guides or whatever it may Be :)

Guess you might use "Hey". There is also bone dialer at bebits. The Developer Editon uses a startup folder but I never asked how that starts apps. http://www.befaqs.com/mirror/betips/tips/tip444.html

From the Scott Hacker BeOS bible, "Remember, even though we're talking about the shell and hey here, BeOS applications can be remote-controlled by any programming language, utility, or application that can send messages. By the time you read this, that will include Python and may include Perl--if so, you won't need hey, but the principles we talk about here will still apply."
That would seem to mean that a perl or python or most any other ported to beos can control an application.

Oh heck, better read this or buy the book.http://www.beosbible.com/bos/ch_scripting6.html#appscripttools
