I just installed BeOS 5 personal edition, but for some reason it displays black and white instead of colors. It says it needs the video card driver, my video card is an S3 trio 32/64. Where can I get a video driver of this particular card for BeOS?

It is sad, Franklin, but there is no longer a BeOS driver for your card. There used to be, but Be Software, Inc. decided to change BeOS 5 to make it incompatible with the older drivers. They, won't allow anyone to write 3rd-party drivers, and they have said themselves that they aren't interested in adding any new ones themselves.

As I said in one of my earlier responces, get VesaAccepted from bebits.com or perhaps bedepot.com It should normally be able to get you into full colour in a single reboot, if your card is VESA 2.0 or higher compatible. Most cards made post-1996 are.
All the best!!

How does VesaAccepted works?
where do you save it?
What is the procedure to use VesaAccepted?
I cannot get it to work with any of the two cards that I have. ATI MAcH64 and Cirrus Logic 5446 (both are the PCI version)What about Creative labs sb 16 pci? It doesn't work
What about diamond DT0398 sound card pci? doesn't work...
any ideas?
thankx

i have a Diamond FireGL 1000 PRO aint it is made later than 96' ...and it aint nativly vesa compatible since its a workin gl card....be needs to get their act together and make drivers for my card....also i dont know where to get a sb16 driver since benews.com is down :((((((
