Hiya guys, I just installed BeOS 5 Pro and for some reason can't get it to see my modem.
I'm using a Zoom 56K PCI modem that BeOS says it supports and it does show up in the modem list. I filled out all the fields on the Dial-up Networking page and pressed connect and nothing happened. It tried to connect I guess, the buttons went grey, but I heard no sound from my modem nor do I think anything acully told it to pick up the line. It just set there until I got a "No Dial Tone" error.
I have found a PCI "Communication Device" under Devices. Now the problem is, I guess, that its not seeing it as a modem. The "Comm Device" is taking up serial port 2, and serial port 2 is not avalible to me from the modem setup screen. I'm not sure on what I need to do now. I can't seem to be able to tell the PCI Device that it is a modem, nor can I go to the modem screen and pick serial 2.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Shawn

Just a small update. I did finally find out that my Modem does have the Lucent chip. I tried using the Lucent settings and had no luck. Got some AT commands and some OK's, but when it came to dialing the numbers, it never picked up the phone line, and thus I got a "No Dial Tone" error.
