I am having trouble installing BeOS Pro 5.0.3 on my computer. I had to make the floppy disk because I have XP installed, and to use the included partition software. I would create the the partition, reboot the computer, the opening splash screen would come up and the the computer would re-start. After about five or six times of that I give up.
I been doing some research and found out that BE has trouble with computers with more than 1GB of ram. Is there any work around? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
yes..look for a file named 'ram linmiting bootloader' or somesuch on bebits..i believe that's meant for precisely this situation. Sorry don't know exactly which it is..never needed it myself as my BeOS PC's all have less thhan 512 megs.. good luck...
