Midi...never heard these sounds

Hey all,
I was just playing a midi file through soundplay, and it seems to be using some BeOS or SoundPlay-specific soundbank, because my awe64 never sounded like this before! I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else. I Windows the soundbank sounds completely different...any thoughts?

From my own experience, BeOS's own MIDI player is far from perfect. BAE MIDI Player is much better than MIDI PLayer. SoundPlay, on the other hand, uses a similar bank to that of HSB. The quality, however, is better. I would not suggest using the pitch control on SoundPlay to playback MIDIs, because the sound will quickly distort. By the way, I'm using a SoundBlaster PCI512 for my own tests.
