OS: BeOS PE rc5
CPU/Ram: 200mhz/48mb
Comment:
I have an IBM pc300gl 6286 with a ps2 mouse and keyboard, a 3com 3c509 etherlink III network card, and a Cirrus Logic GD-5436/46 VGA video card. It has a 200mhz P2 processor, 48mb ram, and a 2.5g and 1.6g hard drive.
I installed Win98 on the first hard drive then BeOS PE in its 500mb partition. I used the BeTip to install beos to the second hard drive so now it has a 1.6g partition instead of a .5g partition. First thing I noticed was that everything was being displayed at a 640x480x1 resolution which really sucks. I tried the VesaAccepted program on bebits and that doesn't work. The next thing i noticed was that the NumLock on my keyboard is lighted but the keyboard doesn't work. It is a ps2 keyboard and it works fine in the be boot manager but after the little icons start turning white the keyboard stops working. I've tried switching keyboards that i know work on other machines and on linux and windows on this machine. I tried disabling the CDD (I can't disable USB) and I tried updating the bios but the bios updater is screwed up and I e-mailed IBM about that. The last problem I've found is my Etherlink III card (uses the 3c509 driver on windows & linux) doesn't work either. I tried playing around with it (you can't do much playing without a keyboard) and I can't get that to work.
So to recap:
1) Cirrus Logic video card doesn't work
2) ps2 keyboard doesn't work
3) Etherlink III (3c509) nic doesn't work

any ideas or suggestions??

Did it all work with the PE "virtual filesystem" at 500meg?

Video should work. Use Preferences->Screen to change resolution for that workspace and others.

Does NIC show up in Preferences->Network? Also you will need to put an entry in hosts block.
