You can bypass their software but it violates the terms of service agreement you agree too when you sign up. Also has gotten complicated to get the coded settings you need except for maybe DotNow.com and AMEXOL. Best thing is to bite the bullet and find a $10 per month ISP without any required software or ads such as SeniorGlobe.com. Many others out there.
