How can I install internet connection sharing with a win98 2nd edition PC as server and BeOS 5.0 as client, without using samba. Did somewone know a tool or a solution for my problem?

Samba should be irrelevant. Internet connections are TCP/IP. Assuming that wiring and hardware connections are proper, under BeOS network settings, the "gateway" or "router" should be the IP of the Win98 system. Each Machine on the internal network needs its own IP.
There are free utuilities available to let you use the BeOS system as the internet sharing system.

Using dhcp my BeOS machine connects to the internet using ICS no problem. The only problems I have is logging onto some sites. Don't know if this is a problem related to ICS's NAT or a java problem.

I have also running the same configuration. Windows ME with ICS connected to Internet by ADSL. I have a BEOS 5 system connected to my home network (UTP+HUP) en I can use the ME system as gateway. All works fine except for the DNS. I can only use IP adrressen on internet. NOT names like www.hetnet.nl. I have speciefied on beos an DNS (windows ME) but nothing happens.
