Hi everyone! I am a new BeOS user and am so far "enthused" by it... :)

Does anyone know if a BeOS driver for CD writer HP 9600 Si (SCSI) exist?

Thank you for your help!

I don't know of a driver for it specifically. I
have an external HP CD Writer that is
SCSI (probably the same model as
yours) that just kind of automatically
worked. If BeOS detects the drive as a
CD-ROM drive, then it will probably work
with it as a burner. That's what I love
about BeOS; it tries every damn thing it
can to make all your hardware work for
you.

Let me know if you get it or need some
help. I'll e-mail you shortly after I get
BeOS 5 Pro reinstalled on my system
and try the burner.

Hi

I have a internal 9600si and the damn thing is as slow as cold molasses going up hill. When I first got it, it was lightening fast and it only had 128MBram. Now the other day tried to burn a cd off and it came back with buffer under runs at 12x all the way down to 4x at which time it still came back with buffer under runs. Can anyone help me. I have a Dell PIII 450 w/256MBram and 4G left on my 8G HD. I made sure all other programs were'nt running, just explorer and systray. I finally got it to burn using thr HP software but it took 40 min. I should memtion I was using the adaptec software the first time tring.
