this is a question on HOW to resize partitions with BeOS , while it is running. I cloned my hdd today , (with g4u) and it works quite well.
the thing is, its a 10GB disk, and the other was a 8GB disk. how do i get to resize the partition to go up to the whole 10GB? i had the big hdd as a slave so the old hdd boots up, and i went in to preferences/driveSetup. but i couldnot find a way to move the slider all the way to the end. is there anything that will let me do this? and in the driveSetup, there is a little lock next to the slider. what gives?
i am searching bebits for an apropriate application.

There have been posts on how to do it. I don't recommend it. You would be better off making the partiton using windows or linux or ranish. Then do a clean install of beos. Then copy over the needed files.

i figured out how to do this. load up your beos installation cd, then wait till the installer menu comes up. click the part where you get more options for the disk setup. now just select your current hdd, then click the lock (to unlock) the partition you wish to create. (mostly the freespace that there is when you clone your hdd). just select that chunk of free space, initialise it as bfs, choose the middle option for cluster size. name it and such. now you're done!
take out the installation cd, reboot, and mount the new partition when you are in BeOS. there you have it!Mr X
