How do I uninstall user add-ons?

I've installed the IDE replacement driver from BeBits but it freezes my computer at boot-up. The install instructions mention an uninstall procedure but it's not included in the package. Is there a general procedure to follow to remove user add-ons (such as just removing the install files from the add-on directories...)? For now, I just disable the add-ons at boot-up using the spacebar procedure.

I think it is a software valet package. Suggest that you open software valet and use the un install?
What I think you are wondering is, is there a reg file like windows? No. No secret places but you might have to understand the concept of links. Symbolic links look like files but are pointers to other real files or filesystem entries. (devices what not)
Hope that is good advice.

There doesn't seem to be an "uninstall" option in my version of SoftValet. I have an option to manage packages, but that's only for upgrades, not removal. There is also a "remove" option, but that is only to remove references to the package from Softvalet; it doesn't touch the installed files.

My guess is that BeOS will automatically load any driver that's put in the add-ons directory; what I'm afraid of is tinkering with those files without knowing how the OS will react (IE kill the system).

Thanks for the help anyways, I'll keep looking for an uninstall procedure.

The package told/ will tell you on install what files it was going to put and where. Reverse that to uninstall. Use the GUI to put in trash can so if you do delete a file you might be able to recover it. Compair beos CD to your files.
