Funny characters when typing

MY keyboards diplaying funning characters while typing (like the " symbol instead of the @ symbol and vice versa) i haven't had this problem with anything but the developers edition is there a simple way to fix the problem?

The keyboard that the BeOSonline folks use is the German keyboard. It might be that they installed a german keyboard as default? See the keyboard in Preferences.
