I am using BeOs 5 to run LCS - audio software and
hardware system. I am unable to mount our SCSI external
hard drives which contain audio files. When I right click
on the desktop-Mount Drive-SCSI drive - I get this error
message:
Error mounting volume (general OS error). What do I need
to do? Is it a driver issue or something else? Thanks!

A normal external scsi disk would be in normal respects the just another disk. It could be in the scsi bios there is some setting to check. Check that your id's are below 7. See if scsi bios has any diags or test util's.
Other than that I'd ask, did it ever work?

Thanks.
I've tried IDs 0, 1 and 2
I'll check the SCSI bios and see if there are any diags or test
utilities.

Use SCSIProbe to see more info. Also might be an IRQ problem.
Did it ever work? Is this a first time install or what?

This SCSI drive has worked in the past. The SCSI port (?)
also works when it is connected to the hardware of LCS (a
high performance audio interface with digital audio
processing)
I opened SCSI Probe and the computer recognized the
SCSI drive, but still wouldn’t mount.
I opened Drive Set-Up and the computer saw the drive,
but says Map Style is unknown (I’m not quite sure if that
means anything)
I also ran the Surface Testing which froze at block
12709248 35843670 blocks – this froze the computer
as well.
I restarted the computer, opened Drive Set-up, Chose
Mount and received this message:
Error mounting (no such device [0x80007007]).
I ran Surface Testing which ran without any errors – still
unable to mount.
I opened Disk Probe which also saw the drive, but I am not
very fluent in BeOS to quite understand what all the code
means (I’m assuming it’s the info that is already on the
drive).
I also don’t know what an IRQ is.
If there is something wrong with the IRQ is there a way to
fix it?Thanks.

The very best place would be to start at lcsaudio forums. If you don't get a reply then I will try to get you some other info for you.
