my computer has a d-link dfe-550tx network card, but when i install beos it doesn't see it. does anyone know where i can find a driver or remedy the problem?

You could use listdev in terminal and see what chip and vendor is reported and try to hack a driver with those numbers. I think it is way too different of a driver.
Since the 550 is a fully managed nic, I suspect that no driver has been written for any similar product. Best bet is to purchase a supported realtek card. But, don't let me stop you from trying to write a beos driver for that card. We need more hardware drivers. See also bedrivers.com
