Reply: (edit)there is no way until a codec is released. And that might never happen.. :/ But maybe someone out there is working on one right now, I hope so. Just curious, can you play divx's without getting video and sound unsynked? I cant. I have heard that it is a problem with the media kit in BeOS and not with the codec itself. Do someone here know anything about this? Jefro maybe?

Reply: (edit) hahaha I guess I have assumed a name of someone who might know something. I am not he. I have never been accused of knowing anything. In fact, usually the opposite.

Reply: (edit) Did you people try the DivX trick using the Windows DLL files (what divX versions does that support BTW?) Or did you try the open source codec that works with hardware overlay on BeOS? (I use this on Nvidia GeForce: nice low CPU load :-) I suppose this one (BeBits: Carlos Hasan posted it some time ago) will work upto V4? see: http://www.bebits.com/app/2575 I can imagine that if someone was to create this codec from the current sources of that project that it would support V5 also? One more thing that sounds really promising (!): It looks like VLC will support this FFMPEG codec also, if you checkout the changelog on the VLC site, you will notice different remarks about this.. I am very curious about the next VLC version that comes out! Rudolf Cornelissen.
