Comment:
I have tried to install a patch from BeBits that makes it possible for my Dlink net card to work. However, it gives me the following error:
"Original Driver system/add-ons/kernel/drivers/bin/rtl8139 not present."
I downloaded Be's rtl8139 driver from Bebits to solve the problem, and I figured I just copy the rtl8139 file to the correct location, but I still get the error...how do you install the rtl8139 driver is my question (I think!)
The rtl8139 driver had two files in the zipped format. While you can use a program like winzip to look at the drivers you can not unzip them on any other file system than Be File System. (you may have known that already) The one that is 23K goes to \beos\system\add-ons\kernel\drivers\bin\ make sure it is below \bin The 43K file goes to \beos\system\add-ons\net_server\ and again below the net_server subdirectory.
I don't know what beos is. I just want to download the RTL8139 driver and all I get is this driver. And now I read these articles and figure out that I cant use it. Is that right?
