Subject: DFE-530TX on BeOS R5
Comment:
I am trying to get my D-Link card to run on
BeOS, and I am having absolutely no success.
I have updated to 5.0.3, I have downloaded
the patches etc... from www.bebits.com, I've
tried just using the NE2000 ISA interface,
and I am having absolutely no luck getting my
NIC to run so I can have DSL in BeOS. Help
would be much appreciated, thanks.

I used to have the same problem as you. I have a D-Link 538TX, if I started
BeOs PE from Win98, D-link wasn't detected but my pci sound card did. If I
started from a boot disk or Dos before Win, D-link is detected as a Realtek
ethernet, the problem is that my soundcard doesn't! I hope this can help.

Unfortunately, no that isn't going to help me, the Card doesn't work from Win98 or off the disk, and my soundcard works all the time (Creative ISA SB16). Thanks anyway.

I have the same network card and it works exellent with BeOS 5.03. With older version you need driver for Via Rine chip, and u can find it on BeBits.

If you're still checking this post, I suggest going to bebits.com and downloading the Realtek driver. I think Realtek is the standard that the 530tx series are based on. Anywho, I have the 538tx, and my card didn't work untill I got the Realtek driver from bebits.com

Same problem here. The card is 'seen' in devices, as well as by PCI Probe. Not functioning according to network services.
Any other suggestions. VIA rine search at BeBits showed nada
