Comment:

Recently, I setup a Multi-OS server, with the following configuration - Celeron 733 MHz, Intel i815 mainboard, Nivdia Riva TNT2 Model 64 (32M RAM) 256M RAM and 26G Harddisk totally. After installing Windows98, I install BeOS 5 PE. But after booting BeOS, the system is hanging up on the "circule symbol of THUNDER, even though using bootup disk to bootup, the problem still occurs!!!
HELP!!!

Hi !

It may be a problem of video card initialization. When Be boots, there's a white rectangle in your screen upper-left corner. Press space then, and select a VESA boot (if it doesn't work, try other changes, i.e. disk parameters). BeOs should boot with grey pictures... Download and install the nvidia driver at www.bebits.com

The 815 chipset is your issue! BeOS is incompatable with it!!!
That sort of tells you what will run on the 815...WINTEL strikes again!

press the space bar (just like the way u press F8 on a win98 system) to bring up a list of options. select "fail-safe boot" option...or i fink it's "vga safe"....anywayz, there should be an option like that. that will use vesa mode or if u're not that lucky, it boot into only b&w =0)

Take a look at this forum and they have a link to download the i815 driver for BeOS. (it is really a modified i810 driver).
Good luck!
