hey i have a lot of problems with the hardware. well i dont have the drivers. for sound or modem. the modem is external sound internal. if i cant find the drivers for the hardware is there any way i can make them??????

If the modem is an actual hardare modem (which it almost certainly is if it's external and connects to a standard RS-232 serial (COM) port!), any generic, standard modem driver should work.
As for the sound hardware, since you didn't indicate what hardware you're using, it's impossible to say.
As for writing your own drivers, absolutely--you can write them yourself.
You'll need a solid grounding in c and c++. If you've never written device drivers before, you're in for... an interesting experience. For writing BeOS device drivers, I highly recommend the following two books:
Programming the Be Operating System
by Dan Parks Sydow
Published by O-Reillyand
Be Advanced Topics
written by the Be Development
also published by O-ReillyUnfortunately, the material in both books pre-dates R5. Quite a shame, since many of the kits changed. Still, these are pretty helpful resources.
