The AWE64 seems to have way too much bass in its line out. In Windows 2000 this was always fixable because the OS's mixer has bass and treble in the "advanced" settings. But BeOS doesn't seem to have frequency-specific settings in the media mixer.

I can fix this problem when listening to mp3's, since soundplay comes w/a great equalizer. But system sounds are painful, as they are still full of bass.

Thanx for any thoughts!
Joey

In the sound settings of BeOS, there is a bass and treble adjustment under the sbout or such but if there isn't, you will have to download a new driver, download a master mixer for BeOS (hard to find), or buy a set of speakers with bass control (hope you won't have to). I'll keep looking at that type of problem.

Wait, Try these:

The last one I really think will work but the first one is just the driver.

Thanx for the reply! The first link (to the sb16 driver) had a great mixer (had bass & treble control), but installing the driver caused my right channel to be non-existent for some reason.

The 2nd suggestion seemed great too, but doesn't look like there's an intel version of it : (

Thanx though!
Joey
