You can grab BeOS Personal Edition (which is free) from www.bebits.com. The professional version can be a little harder to find, but you might want to experiment with Personal Edition first.

You can get BeOS 5 Pro in Europe at:

http://shop.mensys.nl/catalogue/mns_BeOS5.html

You get documentation in English and French. After you install it, you should install the 5.0.3 upgrade from BeBits. You are aware, I assume, that BeOS is currently unsupported. Also it does not work on Pentium 4 machines.

If you install BeOS, I suggest that you also get BeProductive, which is available for about 13.00 USD, and Opera for BeOS, which will cost you 39.00 USD from Opera. The native BeOS browser, Net+, doesn't support Javascript.

I've read that Gobe Productive is going to be released OpenSource, and it is no longer being developed or sold for BeOS. No sense in paying for BeOS either. BeOS is no longer supported or developed by Be, Inc. and BeOS PE, once re-installed onto it's own partition, is nearly the same as Pro anyway.

If you feel you need to support BeOS financially, I'm sure there are Shareware authors who would be greatly encouraged by registered, paying users of their software.

Best Wishes,
Bob

Correction: Gobe Productive is going to released under a GPL liscense, not OpenSource.
