Comment: I have Windows 98 running on my 10-GB primary hard disk. The other important specs of my machine are Pentium 166 MHz and 64 MB RAM. I also have a second hard disk (2 GB) that I have partitioned to install BeOS and QNX. BeOS starts fine, but doesn't recognise the primary hard disk for mounting. But it recognises the two partitions on the smaller hard disk. Please help. To those who remember my earlier post about BeOS not booting: I installed BeOS on a FAT16 partition. It works -- even without the boot disk.

Reply: (edit)This has been an ongoing discussion at other forums. You need top be below thew 1024? cylinder barrier for BeOS to boot. However, for the daring, there is XOSL which supposedly will boot BeOS beyond that barrier. Go to their site www.xosl.com and read up on the instructions. Not for the faint hearted. MJ

Reply: (edit)Sorry, scratch the previous response, I didn't read the question correctly. Go check out the Developers's edition at www.beosonline.com. There may be something there that will help you.
