my pros, note xp has some of the features, but I jut find them done more "the right way" on BeOS:
+ low hardware requirements
+ short boot-up time
+ fast, low latency scheduling/multi-threading
+ very responsive, slick gui with multiple desktops (workspaces)
+ no-nonsense configuration and app settings (uses fs, not registry)
+ very decent PnP yet without any kind of "install device dialogs". If you have a driver it will work , no questions asked
+ simple de/installing of drivers and add-ons, just copy/delete
+ it is possible to put all drivers to user folders instead system folders (they override system ones, but they can also be disabled at boot time)
+ uses MIME types for identifying apps and file types
+ when doing "open with" in Tracker possible app candidates are ranked according to their usfulness and are automatically removed when app is removed, no need for deinstall procedure, also you can move app manually and open with will work
+ DataType translators for system wide data conversion
+ uses BFS file system, a 64bit, journaling file system with attributes and database-style indexing and queries.
+ can mount FAT32, ext2 and NTFS file systems.
native FS - BFS, with
+ elegant SDK (so called Kits) no arcane Win32 weirdness.
+ a pure-breed desktop, personal OS, no compromisescons:
- few apps
- few drivers, bad hardware support for new machines
- not multiuser (although technically there are m-u capabilities built in)
- there are two *incompatible* versions of networking layer, only Userland NetServer is officialy released, but is not as efficient as Kernelland BONE version.
- a pure-breed desktop, personal OS, no compromises ;)

A report written from first-hand experience would be more 'real'. Why don't you download and install BeOS? Then you can develop your own list of pros and cons.
Best Luck,
Bob

Here's som info
