When i wacth startrek tng, i like the back round track of the ship. is there anyway i can get that track and loop it and make it start up in beos so i can listen to it so like im on the tng show? thanks

Guess there are a few ways. Might use an app called "Hey". It can run almost any beos window.
You will have to capture the video and sound and save it to a supported format.
Might try looking into how the developer edition used the start folder or look on bebits for autorun sort of stuff.

Well, it really couldn't be simpler, all you have to do is record the bit you like off the TV with a mic , and then just copy that segment over until all the bits are long enough when spliced together (say, you record three seconds, copy it over ten times ,and you've got 30 seconds worth of trek sounds..i don't know the exact BeOS commandline for joining binary files, but in dos it would be:
copy /b treksnd1.wav+treksnd2.wav+treksnd3.wav... newsound.wav
...etc depending on what format (wav or other) you've picked and what they're called, of course..
Then copy it onto your be Drive in boot/beos/etc/sounds and in the 'sounds' preferences just select it as the startup!
