Here is my understanding, anyone feel free to correct me...

There never was a download version of BeOS for the Mac - you had to buy one of the disk versions. Also, I believe it required a PowerPC.

He's right, the PPC chip is the only Apple (O.k., technically Motorola) chip that is supported by the BeOS. Even if it could run on a 68k Mac, it's be WAY too slow.
