I have a couple of questions about hardware compatibility. Has anyone successfully used the Beos with the Intel 815 Chipset and the 1.4 Ghz Tualatin Processor? Also, does anyone have strong recomendations for chipsets and motherboards for Pentium 4 that has successfully run the Beos?

The best resource for BeOS hardware compatibility is frizbe.net. If your hardware isn't listed there, it's possible no one ever tried it yet. If you try something not listed, it would be helpful to sent frizbe a report, positive or negative.
One thing to keep in mind, I think you need a patch to run BeOS on a P4.

Bob is one friendly person by golly. Might need the patch or may not on P4's. Some only need the "don't call bios option" The first P4's (old die size) and usually rambus did need a patch. Many newer P4's run fine with no patch. My P4 xeon's run without the patch. The official HCL is old and what you find on Frizbe or at yellowtab is more current.

Summary: Is all your hardware compatible with beos? It almost sounds to me like either your video card or soundcard isnt. Check the hardware list at http://www.be.com/support/guides/beosreadylist_intel.html ...
