To make a long story short I suggest that you buy someone's old box that they can't sell for $25 and run a linux server. There may be other options but for the amount of time and searching you would be better served doing other beos stuff.
I can't tell from the crummy instruction toshiba wrote. You may be able to just connect to the net with a crossover Ethernet cable and a NIC card in your computer. The instructions say that a Apple computer can't use the USB but can use the ethernet.
Hey, I have the same modem. There is currently no supported driver to use the USB port on any os other than the winblows stuff. I am currently trying to write a driver for use with current Linux kernels but BeOS isn't useful enough without more application developers/porters. If interested in seeing how my driver works on the current build drop me an email.
