I have Windows XP Home running on my 900 Celeron, 128 MB RAM, 20 GB HD, 32 MB ATI Radeon Graphics card and I've been trying to get BeOS PE to work on my machine. I install it, create a boot floppy, then reboot, but every time I try to reboot into Be it reads the floppy for a few seconds and then stops. On the screen only four of the boot icons are highlighted. I've tryed going into safe mode but then it gives me a Kernal Debugging error. The only funny thing I've noticed about BeOS is that when it is creating a boot floppy it only goes about 3/4 of the circle and quits. Is there anyway that I can get it to work on my machine?

You might try this. Get a dos boot disk ,dos5 through win98. find loadbeos.com and zbeos either on the PE or on the web. Copy loadbeos.com and zbeos on the floppy and boot to dos prompt. run loadbeos and see what happens then. It should go into safe mode and ask for a image or beos partition. It may boot then.

When it get to the last icon on the blue screen I think that tries to load the file system. however beos was able to do that before because the kernel is on the file system and it had to use a patch file too which might mean that the file system is kaput. (sp?)

Install BeOS onto a FAT32 drive, since MS changed the NTFS of WinXP and the BeOS bootloader won't find the partition image.
