Well, I've installed both BeOS 5.0 Personal Edition and Pro Edition on a system that used a Tyan Trinity KT-A S2390B motherboard with a VIA Apollo KT133A chipset and had no problems whatsoever.

I find it difficult to believe that the core of BeOS Developer Edition 5.04--which BeOS Online has since renamed "BeOS Developer Edition 1.0" differs substantially from the Personal or Pro Edition.

BeOS Developer Edition is based on the Personal Edition and I had no problems at all installing and running PE with the VIA Apollo KT133A chipset.

It should be possible to get Developer Edition working. I suspect the real issue might lie outside the chipset.

What problems (precisely) are you running into? Also, what processor is your system using? Are you using ATAPI or SCSI interface for your hard disks? (If you're using an Adaptec Ultra160 host adapter, that'll cause a snag right away.)

There is a known compatibility issue with AMD processors that use the Palomino core.

Exactly what system do you have and where on the
install does it stop?
