I'm a newbie to the BeOS. I'm running Win Me on my desktop. I've got Be 5 installed but can only run it from a boot floppy and not from the Me desktop. Can anyone tell me where I can find instructions to run Be on Win Me. I'll probably purchase Be Pro once I test drive Be PE but I have to keep a version of WinTel for work. Any advice on the best combo of Win 95,98,Me,NT,2000 to run with Be Pro ?
Thank you for any suggestions... Reggie

Well, I do know for a fact that you can't make BE boot from WinME directly. However, I use the Pro version of BE on M ME systen and dual boot it using BE's bootloader program that comes with the pro version. It's very stable and works wonderfully.

The best combination is Windows 2000 with no BeOS.

Or if your going to get realy picky go with NO win2000 and just run LINUX!!!!!!

(Just a joke! thats just what I like) really the only way to run BE ON WIN ME IS WITH A FLOPPY UNLESS you get the Dos patch for winME that might work but really all it will do is let youclick on an icon instead of booting a disk

start BeOS R5(pe,pro?!) and type into the terminal : 'bootman' and set everything to boot correctly (winME,BeOS)
or just use Powerquest BootMagic 6.0...
thats all!
Good Luck Mates!...and Bye!

boot to be with the boot disk, run bootman
found in boot/be/bin, then everything will work fine, or take off M$ and run be alone
except for a few apps you may miss life will be alot better
